We're here for you

Absolute Care is a family business, so we look after our home care team like they’re part of it – then together, we can look after our service users in the same way.

We do this by constantly looking for opportunities to develop, educate and have fun with our team, so they can enjoy and feel proud of their work. In this way, care work can enrich their lives, those of their families, and have a positive impact in the community where we all live and work. Our dedicated team of carers for elderly at home provides compassionate and professional support, ensuring that seniors can live comfortably and independently in their own homes

We constantly invite feedback from our whole team so we can understand what they enjoy about their work, and more importantly, what they would like to see changed or improved. We know that only by constantly improving our processes, services, pay and conditions can we continue to attract and retain the best home carers and deliver the outstanding quality of care that we insist upon.

Meet the team...

Wendy Pears

Director and Registered Manager

Hello, I’m Wendy, RGN, BSc (Hons). I embarked on my nursing journey with the NHS in 1989, where I dedicated my skills until 2012. My commitment to excellence in the field led me to earn a Registered Nurse qualification in July 1992. Over the years, I progressed to become a community practitioner, nurse prescriber, and a specialist practitioner – district nurse in July 2001. With a desire beyond the community setting, I pursued my dream of establishing a Domiciliary Care business, Absolute Care Agency EM Limited, which flourished under my leadership. In 2019, my business partner and I successfully sold the business to the Directors of Care At Home (Midlands) Limited, Matt and Jess. Whilst I am responsible for the day-to-day operations, Matt, Jess, and I work closely to push the business forward. I now serve as a Nurse and Quality Director, continuing my dedication to providing high-quality care.

Jessica Hodson

Managing Director

My name is Jessica, although many refer to me as Jess. In 2019, we acquired Absolute Care, an organisation established in 2012, catering to the Local Authority, NHS, and private clients in Loughborough and the neighbouring areas. Aside from this, in 2012, Matt and I founded Care at Home (Midlands) Limited following our successful venture of launching a domiciliary care business for my previous employer. Alongside this, Matt and I have collaborated in the Recruitment Industry for numerous years. Throughout my professional journey, I have prioritised meeting my clients’ needs by customising the services offered. Recognising the demand for a reputable domiciliary care provider in the Leicestershire region, we swiftly established ourselves as a key service provider for the Local Authority, NHS, and numerous private clients. Our combined expertise in business and recruitment sets us apart from our rivals. On a personal note, I am happily married with three lovely children.

Matthew Smith

Managing Director and Nominated individual

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Matthew, though I prefer to go by Matt. In 2019, we acquired Absolute Care, established in 2012, catering to the Local Authority, NHS, and private clients in Loughborough and the neighbouring areas Together with Jessica (not my spouse, as commonly assumed by those who first meet us!), we established Care At Home (Midlands) Limited back in 2012. With a background in recruitment, catering to Local Authorities, The NHS, and various corporate entities, the realisation of a market gap prompted us to transition our expertise into providing assistance to individuals in their own homes. Our unique blend of recruitment experience and business acumen has helped us stand out from our rivals. I am a husband with a delightful daughter and two Dogs. My family and I love taking our caravan to explore different corners of the country.

My primary objective is to provide engaging training sessions that can be tailored to different settings and skill levels, preferably in a relaxed atmosphere to foster active participation.

Carla Bentley

Deputy Care Manager

Hi, my name is Carla. My first role within the care industry was as a teenager, working part time in a residential home.  Following completion of my secretarial college course I followed that path and gained a role as a secretary for a number of years.

I then took a career break to raise my family.  When I was ready to return to work I found Absolute Care – this was 12 years ago and I have never looked back.  I started on a very part time basis, mainly carrying out social calls, this progressed to a few more hours delivering care and then this progressed to full time hours as an office team member.  During my time here I have gained my NVQ Level 5 and position as Deputy Care Manager. which enabled the people I visited to access the community.  My place within the company grew and I became a member of the office team, through this position I have gained my NVQ Level 5 and position as Deputy Care Manager.

Lisa Hutchinson

Operations Lead

Hello! I’m Lisa, and I’ve been part of the Absolute Care team for four years now. My journey began as a caregiver, serving our clients throughout Loughborough, and I’ve since advanced to the role of operations lead. Before my career in care, I worked in retail management

The loss of my grandfather to a stroke inspired me to venture into care because I wanted to effect change. It’s been 14 years since I stepped foot in this field, and I can’t picture myself doing anything else.

Jo Musson

Patient Coordinator

Hi, my name is Jo. After leaving school, I worked at a private hospital working in a theatre department in the operating theatre. I was responsible for sterilising the operating suites for the following operation. After 13 years in a hospital setting, I decided to look for a new career path. I joined a care home where I worked with dementia patients and loved what I was doing. After 4 years, I wanted a change of pace and decided to go into domiciliary care. I worked for a company that met people in their homes. This is where I really felt I belonged and loved my work. Aftermoving from Mansfield, I found absolute care and started working there. I have been with absolute care for 6 years. During this time, I have gone from being a carer, to being a senior, and now I am a full-time patient coordinator in the office. I am passionate about my Job and providing the best care possible.
